1 Corintians 14:20-40 | Peter MacPherson |
Today we look at the second half of 1 Cor 14. It is a complex and highly debated section in the letter as it not only continues discussing the nature of tongues and prophecy but also raises the issue of women speaking in church and the very nature of church services themselves (eg the tension between order and spontaneity, leadership and participant contribution). Naturally these issues cannot be addressed in full in just one sermon. Peter MacPherson’s aim will simply be to give a sense of the passage and highlight some of the issues.
