11 July 2021

If you haven’t already guessed, your StAKs Online leaders have been super busy telling lots of kids about Jesus at Going Bananas. So the online program is pretty simple this week. But that doesn’t mean you’re going to miss out. Today’s passage is incredible. Your leaders might get tired, but God doesn’t.

READ:

Acts 9:32-43

WATCH:

Neither of these stories talks about the man named Aeneas, but both tell us about Tabitha (she also gets called Dorcas).

The first clip uses very clever drawings, the second has Lego figures and some cardboard.

DISCUSS:

  • How do you pronounce Aeneas?
  • Why did the healing of Aeneas make people believe in Jesus?
  • Have you seen or heard of God doing amazing things nowadays?
  • Which name is better: Tabitha or Dorcas?
  • Why did the people of Joppa invite Peter to their town?
  • What did they think was going to happen when he got there?
  • Do you think God still cares for his people now?
  • Does that mean Christians never get sick or die?
  • In what ways does God show he cares for you?

DO:

CRAFT

Here is a craft idea that reminds us of Tabitha’s kindness to others. She was amazing because she made clothes for the poor. Print the t-shirt template and use cut outs to decorate it so it looks like one of Tabitha’s garmets.

COLOURING:

Check this out. We have a colouring page for both the miracles in today’s reading.

First we have Peter healing Aeneas.

Then we have Peter raising Tabitha.

How cool!

Please share any of your completed crafts or activities on the StAKs Online Facebook page or email Ross and Naomi.

VERSE OF THE WEEK:

James 5:16

16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

Last Week’s Verse

Acts 9:22

22 Yet Saul grew more and more powerful and baffled the Jews living in Damascus by proving that Jesus is the Messiah.

PRAY:

Here is a prayer game you can play. It’s from Flame Creative Kids blog. You can find it at: http://flamecreativekids.blogspot.com/2013/04/feelings-prayer-game-way-to-help.html

The idea is easy. Use it as a board game. Roll a dice and move your token.

  • If you land on a happy face you get to tell God about something that makes you happy. Then you can thank him for that thing.
  • If you land on a sad face you get to tell God about something that makes you upset. Ask God to help you in those times.

Enjoy.
